This truly spectacular route links the Monemvasia area with the Cape Maleas peninsula, beginning in the pretty seaside settlement of Aghios Fokas, following the coast southeast past small beaches, finishing at the unique  cave of Kastania. The route departs from the point where the road from Monemvasia reaches the small bay of Aghios Fokas, following the asphalt road for 165 m to the chapel of the same name, before turning right onto a narrow unsurfaced road.  After 240 m is the beginning of the path, near the coastline. At the site known as Kastelia is the crossroad to Ano Kastania, some 5,230 m further on is the Kaki Langada gorge. The path continues along the coast for another 2,100 m, then turns inland towards the south, continuing up a gentle incline through terraced fields. The Kastania Cave is 2,500 m further on.
